Saipem, the renowned Italian oil-and-gas engineering company, has recently announced two major contracts, with a combined value of approximately €850 million ($909.2 million). These contracts encompass offshore activities in Ivory Coast and Italy, and serve to reinforce Saipem's prominent position in the industry.
Ivory Coast: Advancing Baleine Project
Under the first contract, awarded by Eni and Petroci, Saipem will undertake the second phase of the Baleine offshore oil-and-gas project in Ivory Coast. This substantial endeavor will involve various facets, such as engineering, procurement, construction, and installation work. The installation process is scheduled to commence in 2024.
Italy: Introducing a New Offshore Storage and Regasification Unit
Additionally, Saipem has secured a second contract in Italy. Collaborating with esteemed partners Rosetti Marino and Micoperi, Saipem will undertake the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation work for an innovative offshore floating storage and regasification unit. The project has been awarded by Italy's gas-grid operator, Snam.
This state-of-the-art facility aims to enhance Italy's liquefied natural gas import capacity and bolster the nation's energy security through diversifying gas sources.
