Rockstar Games, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive Software Inc., has unveiled the first trailer for the highly anticipated "Grand Theft Auto VI" following a recent leak. The popular video game, set to hit the market in 2025, has generated significant excitement among fans.
Originally scheduled for release on Tuesday morning, the trailer was made available earlier due to a low-quality version being leaked on X (formerly known as Twitter). Despite the unexpected reveal, the trailer showcased the immersive experience offered by the game, set in a Vice City reminiscent of Miami. Notably, this installment of the blockbuster franchise will introduce a playable female protagonist, a first for "Grand Theft Auto".
While an exact release date has not been disclosed, fans can eagerly anticipate the arrival of "Grand Theft Auto VI" in 2025.
The next addition to the "Grand Theft Auto" series has been under development for several years. Its predecessor, "Grand Theft Auto V," released in 2013, remains one of the best-selling video games of all time, amassing a staggering 190 million unit sales and generating close to $8 billion in revenue.
As Take-Two reported its earnings last month, Chief Executive Strauss Zelnick expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "We are getting closer to delivering the groundbreaking titles that our audiences throughout the world have been anticipating."
Investors have also reflected this optimism, with Take-Two shares experiencing a 17% increase over the past month and a notable 51% surge year-to-date. These remarkable gains largely stem from the anticipation surrounding the potential massive sales of "GTA6".
