New Gold, a leading mining company, has reported a significant increase in gold production for the third quarter of this year. The company's focus on operational discipline and cost management has contributed to this impressive growth. CEO Patrick Godin commented that New Gold is on track to meet its annual production target.
Production Breakdown
During this period, New Gold produced a total of 111,204 ounces of gold equivalent. This marks a substantial improvement compared to the 91,021 ounces produced in the same quarter of the previous year. The breakdown of production includes 92,986 ounces of gold and 13.2 million pounds of copper, in contrast to 70,147 ounces and 8.5 million pounds respectively in the prior year.
Operational Success at Rainy River and New Afton
Godin highlighted the successful performance of Rainy River in Ontario, where operational discipline, cost control, and savings initiatives were prioritized. Furthermore, New Afton in British Columbia exceeded expectations due to the excellent mining output from B3.
New Gold's continuous efforts to improve efficiency and reduce costs have proven fruitful, and these positive results are expected to continue throughout the year.
