Kontron, a leading German technology company, announced that it has successfully secured two contracts valued at an impressive total of 100 million euros ($105.7 million). With the rising demand for in-flight connectivity services, Kontron is poised to witness further growth and success in this sector.
The awarded projects involve supplying cutting-edge equipment for in-flight entertainment and communications systems (IFEC) to multiple airlines. In the first design project alone, which spans five years, Kontron is expected to generate approximately EUR90 million in revenue starting from 2024.
Additionally, Kontron has entered into a separate agreement with a major satellite-communications operator. This deal, valued at approximately EUR10 million and spanning over two years, provides room for potential volume expansion and opens the door to further deployments.
Kontron's avionics segment is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the increasing demand for in-flight connectivity services. As the industry moves toward low and medium earth orbit satellite constellations, Kontron's expertise and technological prowess will play a pivotal role in meeting market needs. Furthermore, with travel making a strong comeback in the post-pandemic era, Kontron is well-positioned to capitalize on this resurgence.
